Forgot to mention a couple of things in my last post. We are close to a very busy train track, probably 15 trains a day go by in either direction. Just thinking about the logistics of million-pound trains sharing the same track and making sure it’s clear when they go through, makes my head hurt. But it is impressive when they go by. This one had FOUR locomotives.
I also talked about the topology of the Mammoth Cave area with all the rolling hills and rocky terrain, but I forgot to mention the cool trees that grow there. They seem to navigate their way around the rocks and some grow to a truly impressive size. There are huge white trees near the river, groves of firs, and them some that just flow around the rocks. With all the trees, there’s also lots of fallen trees and flowers everywhere. It’s really a beautiful place.
